EveryCompanyCounts.com provides a place where Rhode Island's small business community can learn from each other and grow their business by tapping into Rhode Island's collective knowledge in four primary ways:
- Articles and publications- practical articles and success stories written by Rhode Island business professionals on a variety of topics broken down into three categories: starting a business, financing a business and managing a business.
- Business Resources- an interactive tool to find public/non-profit business resources in Rhode Island.
- Learning Events- link to upcoming learning events around the state to sharpen your business skills.
- Blog- an interactive tool to let us know how we are doing, hear about upcoming or past events and voice your opinion on today's economy.
Every Company Counts vision is to create a small business services community that provides a competitive advantage, enables entrepreneurs and fosters job creation in Rhode Island.

Sherri Lynn Carrera, Manager Small Business Services
As Manager of Small Business Services for RI Economic Development, Sherri runs the day to day operations of Every Company Counts and serves as Rhode Island Small Business Advocate enforcing the Regulatory Flexibility Act in the state.
She manages a staff of two account executives who reach out to more than 1,200 small businesses per year. She is editor of The Business Connection an electronic newsletter that is sent to over 4000 business owners per month. Sherri is also co-creator of We Mean Business which is a joint venture with the Secretary of State's First Stop Business Information Center that holds an annual business expo and monthly learning events to help Rhode Island's small businesses connect with the resources they need to succeed.
Sherri holds a BS in Marketing and Management from Rhode Island College and has been working with small businesses in Rhode Island for over 13 years.

Elizabeth Perry, Business Development Account Manager
As Business Development Account Manager for RI Economic Development, Elizabeth works with the ECC team to reach out to over 1,200 Rhode Island Small Businesses a year in which she helps guide such businesses with issues pertaining to start-up documentation, licensing, workforce development, marketing, public relations, and financing...just to name a few.
Elizabeth and the ECC team are highly active in the small business community by providing over 80 workshops in 2009 and attending many chamber networking events. Elizabeth is the point person for all workshops/seminars being facilitated by ECC as well as blogging about the daily happenings at RIEDC/ECC. To see the ECC BlogSpot, click here. As an extra outreach to Rhode Island small businesses, Elizabeth writes a monthly column for the Pawtuxet Valley Chamber of Commerce that can also be seen on the ECC website by clicking here.
Elizabeth understands the value of small business and the issues that come with it as she is a small business owner herself. Gracie's Gourmet Goodies is an all natural homemade dog treat business that she officially started in 2008, but has been baking all natural dog treats since 1999. Elizabeth has also worked closely with Rhode Island small businesses for 5 years working at a Providence based law firm, where she became very familiar with the incorporation process and SBA loan programs. Elizabeth is attending Rhode Island College and will soon complete her Bachelors in Communications with a minor in Political Science.

Claudia Cardozo-Tarullo, Small Business Account Executive
As a small business account executive for Every Company Counts, Claudia is primarily responsible for the Latino business sector throughout the state. She provides access to a network of business development services for start-up and established Latino small business owners.
Claudia works closely with business and community organizations such as The RI Small Business Development Center, The Secretary of State’s First Stop Business Information Center and Progresso Latino. She is responsible for creating and implementing seminars and workshops created especially for the Latino business community. Claudia maintains a Spanish version of Every Company Counts.com.
A graduate of the Rhode Island College Outreach Program where she specialized in insurance, Claudia is currently attending Community College of Rhode Island where she is pursuing a business degree. Claudia is also a graduate of the Rhode Island Latino Civic Fund’s- Latina Leadership Institute 2007, and the Dale Carnegie training course on Human Relations.
Claudia is bi- lingual and has worked in the past as a moderator and co-host of the weekly Mira television show on a syndicated Spanish television network. Prior to moving to Rhode Island in 2002, Ms. Tarullo was a clothing designer in her native country Columbia, South America.

Victor Barros, Urban Development Manager
As the Urban Development Manager for RIEDC, Victor provides assistance to the Rhode Island Enterprise Zone Council and serves as the point of contact in managing the state's nine Enterprise Zones. Prior to joining RIEDC in 1996 he worked extensively within the financial industry, holding Community Lending and Branch Management positions. He is a 1987 graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Finance.
