Who can contribute an article to EveryCompanyCounts.com?
1. Contributors must meet the following criteria to be considered for
publication.
a. The contributor must be a Rhode Island based small business. Every
Company Counts’ operating definition is 100 or fewer employees.
b.
Articles must be between 500 - 1000 words. Links to larger articles
are possible at editorial discretion.
c. Each submitted piece must
focus on a business management or growth issue.
d. The focus of the
article must be a practical approach to meeting a business challenge.
e.
The article must not be a sales or promotional piece for the contributor
or the contributor’s firm.
f. The spirit of the article must
be in keeping with EveryCompanyCounts.com community values.
g. Articles
should be submitted as plain text only.
How do you Contribute an article, book review* or learning event*?
1. Visit EveryCompanyCounts.com and locate the “Contribute Icon”.
Click on the live link.
2. This will take you to and contribute an article
form. Complete this form including contact information, brief bio
and article idea. For business consultants
emphasize your experience in the article’s business management area.
3.
Submit this form and wait to be contacted by the Site’s editorial
administrator to verify your information.
4. Receive a user name and password
via email.
5. Visit EveryCompanyCounts.com find the contributor log-in
and complete the article submission form.
*At the present time book reviews and learning events are not
available for open submission.
6. Submission of Photos with articles is optional. If an author wishes to
submit a photo the following specifications must be met.
a. Photos must be digital photos submitted jpeg format.
i. Headshots – Portrait style photos from the shoulders
up should be 200 wide x 150 – 200 length pixels, 72 dpi at
100%. These photos run with learning from peers and experts articles.
ii. Feature Articles – Larger photos, an office shot or
team shot, that accompanies the featured articles on the Home Page,
Starting, Financing, Managing and Personal Success pages of the
site. These photos should be 230 – 250 pixels in height and
width, 72 dpi at 100%.7. Graphics submitted with the Fast Facts
section should be submitted as .gif files. Graphics should be 230 – 250
pixels in height and width.
How articles are reviewed and published?
1. Content submitted for publication on Every Company Counts.com is
reviewed and approved by a five member editorial board.
a. Content will be reviewed and approved by a minimum of two readers.
b.
If substantive change is required Every Company Counts will contact
the author to discuss necessary edits.
c. Article publication dates
will be based on volume of articles received and an editorial publishing
schedule.
